SEARCH

We have provided three different search methods to assist viewers in navigating to their desired location.

Common Searches
This is a list of the most commonly searched information on the website. If you do not find what you are looking for, then proceed to the advanced search options.

Web Search
Any word or phrase entered here will be searched through the entire website-whether it is in a contact list, narrative or chart. If multiple words need to be searched together, enter quotation () marks around the words or phrase.

Example:
Want to find: John Doe     Web Search: John Doe

  Help

Area and Group Search
These two search options limit the search to information only found within the database. They are designed to work independently and in conjunction with one another. See below for more information about each option.

Area:
This search is designed to generalize the information by its localized category. Words entered here would be those that narrow the search to a certain location, such as the city, county, or organization in which the searched item would belong.

Example:
Want to find: Corpus Christi City Council        Area Search: Corpus Christi

Group:
For a more refined search, the user would utilize this option to enter a specific entity within an organization, company, or government entity.

Example:
Want to find: List of Mayors        Group Search: Mayor

Using "Area" and "Group" searches together:

Example:
Want to find: Texas State Representatives     Area: Texas    Group: House District

Example:
Want to find: Staff members or contacts for the City of Portland
Area: Portland    Group: Staff
